a) To develop maintain the integration among the elderly persons residing within the jurisdiction of Panihati Municipal areas.
b) To assure mutual co-ordination and explore possibility for the development in various fields of activities by mutual co-operation.
c) To promote a spirit of good will and brotherhood amongst all the members and to hold get together amongst themselves to discuss common problems, to share sorrows and joys.
d) To make arrangements for financial aid to the needy persons and for medical treatment of the financially weak person of the locality.
e) To make arrangement for tour to various places and for recreation of the elderly persons.
f) To carry on and conduct social and humanitarians services to the elderly person of the locality.
g) To provide and arrange necessary relief to the affected persons in times of natural calamities.
h) To organize and maintain mass movement against environ mental pollution and for other social needs in the locality.
i) To promote and conduct Old Age Home.
4. The samiti is registered under West Bengal Societies Registration Act 1961, Registration No. being S/IL/53567 of 2008-2009.
5. A person irrespective of any caste, creed and religion, not less than 50 years of age, residing within jurisdiction of Panihati Municipal area, interested in the become a member of the samiti.
6. A person with qualification as stated above shall apply for membership of the samiti in prescribed form and submit the same to the authorized office-bearer of the samiti along with admission fee, membership fee and I Card fee. Executive committee after consideration at its meeting may either approve the application or reject the same without assigning any reason.
7. A) The Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly of West Bengal elected from Panihati Constituency shall be Patron-in-Chief.
The Hon’ble Chairman of Panihati Municipality shall be the Patron-cum-Advisor.
Hon’ble Councilors of Panihati Municipality and the distinguished personalities of the locality shall be the patrons.
The Samiti is having the following Organs:
a) General Council,
b) Zonal Council
c) Executive Committee
d) Zonal Committee.
Activities:
a) Holding Eye Camp every year with free by a reputed Organization and provide spectacles at nominal rates by the said organization.
b) Providing financial help to physically handicapped, financially challenged and meritorious students.
c) Celebrating and respecting honour to freedom fighters, talented men, scholars, saints having connections to the soil of different parts of Panihati in the yesteryears.
